Additionally, TLC for Smiles is known for its dedicated service to the local and global communities by educating people and making charitable contributions to organizations that benefit broader needs.

For the past 11 years, Dr. Yann Schrodi and Dr. Janet Schrodi have used their dental office to give back to the local community.  They bring this holistic philosophy to their office every day. TLC for Smiles gives back to the local community via sponsorships and volunteer work. For example, we provide educational and financial support to nurseries, schools, sports teams, dance centers, and cheer leading teams.

Our educational programs use a science-based curriculum to educate children about how proper nutrition and oral hygiene can help prevent oral disease. The programs are conducted in nurseries and schools for students, teachers, and doctors. Dr. Janet Schrodi also gives pediatric dentistry lectures to local pediatricians, PTAs, and colleagues.

You can call our office at (818) 360-2131 if you wish to invite Dr. Janet Schrodi to give an informative lecture. Please get in touch if you would like our team to visit or sponsor your group and school. When you call, please ask for Tabby.

Charities Supported Locally And Globally By TLC For Smiles

Dr. Yann Schrodi and Dr. Janet Schrodi passionately pursue their philanthropic leanings by actively supporting various local and global charities. If you choose to become a member of the TLC for Smiles family, your dental care will help support World Vision, Open Arms Pregnancy Clinic, and Forever Found.

Forever Found

Forever Found is a Simi Valley-based Catholic organization, which works in the prevention, rescue, and restoration of child trafficking victims. It protects at-risk children alongside rescuing children sold into life-long prostitution. Forever Found doesn’t just rescue the children; it also supports them by providing housing, medical, spiritual, and emotional care. The organization also trains these children by educating and vocationally training them to become self-reliant young adults.

Yann and Janet Schrodi provide support for four children via Forever Found from Ethiopia, India, Thailand, and the United States. The TLC for Smiles dental clinic has raised significant funds for Forever Found fundraising activities such as sponsoring tables at the organization’s yearly banquet and donating orthodontics care to Forever Found’s annual silent auction.

World Vision

World Vision is a humanitarian aid organization that abides by the Christian beliefs of “pulling up the seeds of poverty and planting seeds of change.” World Vision offers solutions-based support to impoverished communities by working with local leaders to increase wealth via farming, providing clean water, food, medical care, and children’s education. Yann and Janet Schrodi sponsor three children through World Vision in Palestine, Sierra Leone, and Burundi.

TLC for Smile’s team members are also encouraged to make a charitable contribution to World Vision. They have raised thousands of dollars—genuinely impacting lives of children throughout the world. Yann and Janet Schrodi also make regular donations in the names of team members.

Our team has purchased chickens, goats, cropping seeds, food, clothing, and wells for families all over the world in the past via World Vision.

Open Arms Pregnancy Clinic

Open Arms Pregnancy Clinic provides support for women and men dealing with unplanned pregnancies. The clinics are equipped to provide pregnancy testing, counseling, and ultrasound services. If a woman or couple decides to continue the unplanned pregnancy, Open Arms Pregnancy Clinic supports them with counseling and resources such as housing, social services, parenting classes, and products required for a new baby. TLC for Smiles also sponsors tables at Open Arms Pregnancy Clinic’s annual banquet.

Serving Globally from our Dental Office

All our employees and associates support Yann and Janet Schrodi’s philanthropic vision. They have a desire to impact local and global communities positively. It was due to this passion that last year, for Janet Schrodi’s birthday celebration, the entire office made a sizeable donation to Forever Found in Janet’s name instead of giving her a traditional gift. Also recently, the TLC for Smiles team donated dental supplies for a children’s nutrition and oral hygiene education program in India.

Our amazing team truly invests their time, energy, and resources into living a fulfilling life with an altruistic purpose. We are proud of our lovely team. On becoming a part of the TLC for Smiles family, you can feel good that your involvement will become a contribution to local and global charitable activities and help change the lives of many people.

Root Canal Specialist During the Pandemic

During the coronavirus pandemic, I have worked as an Endodontist, or root canal specialist, in two epicenters of the virus – first in New York State during the early part of the spring, and then in Central California during the fall of 2020 and beyond. Much like many industries, there was a lot of unpredictability and change. However, I learned several very important lessons along the way.
