Taddey, a La Jolla dentist for over 43 years, graduated from the New York University Dental School and taught post-graduate dentistry at Montefiore Hospital before setting in La Jolla in 1974. He is the author of "TMJ: The Self Help Program," a nationally published book.
Both Dr. Tracy and Dr. John have been chosen as ‘best dentist’ in La Village News and The La Jolla Light readers surveys. Dr. Tracy Taddey specializes in cosmetic and restorative techniques. A third-generation dentist, she was raised in La Jolla and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University, and then attended The University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1998.

I honestly can't say enough about Dr John . I'm a dentist from Egypt and I came here as a patient and the office is super clean and Dr John is super Good . All the team member from the front desk they are super friendly and nice especially Megan she usually call to check how things going for the visit and they usually call before the other visit . And honestly about the prices is super good for La Jolla . Highly Recommended Dr John Office . Big thanks for the the work you did for me , Really appreciated the office atmosphere is really Nice . And the Ocean view from the clinic is perfect

The Dentist has always scared me since I was a little kid. Dr. John Taddey has a manner that is soothing, knowledgeable, caring and his team reflects this attitude. Everyone in the office is efficient, polite, helpful and just generally terrific. I've never experienced better dental care anywhere!

I had my crown reattached and a cleaning here on separate occasions. The dentists were fine and the office is very nice/clean. However, I'm not a fan of the front desk personnel. I left a message about tooth pain after reattaching the crown and never received a reply. The pain eventually did not bother me as much so I decided not to follow up with them. When I went for a cleaning, hygienist and dentist were great but the others were speaking spanish to each other and showed little interest in me as a patient. After my cleaning, I was told that they would email me an estimate for some preventative fillings before my next appointment. I never got the email. When I got my reminder phone call, I decided to cancel my appointment even though the cost was "only" $140 according to the girl I spoke to. My phone conversations with the front desk also showed a lack of patient interaction ettiquacy. My crown is bothering me again but I will not be returning to this office due to what I've stated above and parking/distance. I would be more than happy to go out of my way for an awesome dental office but my experiences here were not great enough.

I've never had insurance, so I usually always took advantage of dentists and their promotions to new customers. Therefore I went from dentist to dentist to get my teeth cleaned every year. I landed upon Dr. Taddey's office promotion and for whatever reason be it their professionalism, rapport with clients, clean office, I decided to go back to them for my follow up (which I usually don't set up). I've mostly had Kara who personally has been an amazing hygienist and basically I listen to anything she recommends, however the entire team are all very nice and skilled. It also turns out I have a close friend who has been going to Dr. Taddey's for years now so it was great to know they have a long history of keeping their clients happy.

My visit to Dr. Taddey today was very pleasant, which seems like a strange thing to say about a dental appointment, especially when you are as dental phobic as I am. Going to the dentist usually is not one of my favorite things to do however I am actually looking forward to my next visit. All of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. This is my third dentist I have tried in LaJolla and the only one that I will be returning to in the future. Where can you go and have an ocean view from the dental chair?

There is really no better experience at this dentist office. The people are so friendly and professional, the equipment is state of the art and to top it off the view is spectacular! I can't recommend them enough. Thanks Dr. John and Dr. Tracy!

I've been going to Dr. John Taddey since I was a little girl. I once had to go to another dentist because of my insurance ( the last time I'll let insurance control who I see). They told me I needed three crowns!!! I went back to Dr. Taddey only to find out I only needed one filling fixed. You can trust him. He makes me feel so comfortable too. I mean as comfortable as you can get when it comes to shots of Novocaine in your mouth. He also did an amazing job on my smile. When I would smile you would see more of my gums than teeth. He was able to laser back my gums enough to give me a nicer smile. Now I smile with confidence in pictures. YAY! If you don't get a chance to see Dr. John Taddey then his daughter Dr. Tracey Taddey is there. She's awesome too. The staff is amazing.. Laura always remembers and takes such good care of me! I highly recommend this office if you're looking for a great dentist!!

Beautiful,clean office. Front office staff is warm friendly and knowledgeable. The assistants are professional and patient. I have a big time gag reflex and they we're extremely patient and understanding with that. Dr. Tracy Taddey is a wonderful dentist and very personable. Upon entering the office of Dr. Taddey one finds a very personable and knowledgeable front office staff. This courtesy and professionalism carried through to the entire staff. This being my first visit, Dr Taddey came out to the waiting area and introduced himself. The cleaning and X-ray process was completed in exemplary fashion. The cleaning was performed professionally and in a manner that created very little discomfort. During the exam, Dr. Taddey was very thorough and based upon his exam and the reviewing the X-rays was able to offer a competent and complete analysis of my dental history and current condition. The overall experience was excellent. I feel very confident in having Dr. Taddey and his staff looking after my dental needs

I've been coming to the Taddeys' office for several years and I've been seen by both Dr. John and Dr. Tracy. Whether I get extensive work like root canals and crowns or just a simple cleaning, I always have a great experience with beautiful results. The office staff, hygienists, and dental assistants are friendly, funny, and charming and I always feel like I'm visiting old friends. They've also helped when I was having an issue with my insurance and they intervened and got it all squared away. Recently I was feeling some sensitivity in my tooth so I was able to schedule an appointment the first thing the next morning. Dr. John took a look at my mouth and made some minor adjustments and I was on my way, free of charge. To top it off, the view from the chair -- ocean as far as the eye can see -- can't be beat!

Over the past decade I've been to about 5 dentists in Mission Beach and La Jolla. Dr. Taddey was by far the best! It's about time I found him. Although he had some really bad news for me... freakin' eight cavities and two crowns... to the tune of over $3k.

The new office is great. Nothing like an ocean view when you get your teeth cleaned with brand new equipment. The upsell of product can wear on you, but it is often done with the best intentions.

I adore the staff and doctors here. They are friendly and helpful, and always willing to take the extra time to explain procedures, treatment details and financial options. I've had appointments with both Doctors John and Tracy Taddey and found them both gentle and caring. Great "chair side manner". Kira and Heather the hygienists have been great with my cleanings, and my friends often comment at how great my teeth look. I'd avoided dental work for years because of bad experiences-- but this office has gently and joyously brought me back to having healthy teeth and gums and a beautiful smile.

I've been going to the Taddey Dentistry for over 30 years. First John Taddey and now his lovely daughter Tracy. Both are top professionals, the offices are amazing with top of the line dental equipment and everyone there is very nice. I would recommend (and have) them to anyone looking for excellent dental care.
