Moving to San Francisco three years ago, I was on a mission to find a dentist who is professional, skilled and ethical. All my expectations were met when I came across Alemany Dental. Dr. Lyew is amazing at what he does and he genuinely has patients' interest in mind. The staff are also extremely nice and professional.

Customer services is the best. Staffs is friendly, and thorough. Definitely will be my dental place. This is a place to be if you are scared of dentist, staffs will made you feel comfortable and confident to know that you will have a best smile. It is a plus with movies to watch that you don't even think you are there. Dental is not everyone favorite place but this office took all my nervous away. Thank you Alemany dental!! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Friendly staff. Professional dentist. Clean environment. Movie entertainment during operation. This is the best dental place I've ever been to.

This is by far, the best dentist I've ever had! Dr Lyew is so nice, and explains everything out well. The rest of his staff is amazing too!! The office is high tech, they have TVs at every seat, and give you headphones to watch movies when you come in for procedures!

I hate dentist. I hate going to dentist appts after the last 2 dentist f**cked up my teeth permanently. But I absolutely love my new dentist and his staff!! This office is small but so clean and high tech! The staff and Dr. Lyew is friendly, courteous and has awesome bedside manners. They explain every procedure before starting and they have a wide variety of movies you can choose to watch while they work on you. Did I mention I hate going to dentist? I mean I still don't like it but I don't dread it as much as I did before. All procedures are of minimal pain, slight discomfort, I'm not going to lie but bearable. I can say I found my dentist for life. Lol. I'm not going to anyone else and will be going back there even if I have to pay out of pocket. You guys Rock!

Great office and staff. Cleaning was gentle and the office environment allows me to be as relaxing as can be while at the dentist.

When all the other reviews are glowing and you have a bad experience, you've got to wonder "what's going on here?" On the other hand, my negative experience with Dr. Lyew was very similar to Van's. Never had an issue with cleanings here: they've got the best technology, offer San Pelligrino, and a free Welcome Kit. I had a cavity filled in March. Immediately after the procedure, I noticed a lot of swelling in the area. A few days later, the office called me to check in. I shared that I was I still in pain. Dr. Lyew said I was probably having some residual side effects from the anesthesia and not to worry. A few weeks later, I was still in pain, so I asked for a post-op visit. Dr. Lyew did some adjustments on the tooth, prescribed me a special toothpaste, and sent me on my way. I was told that it could take some time for my mouth to adjust to the new bite. Two weeks later, I started having unbearable pain in my jaw (so bad that I wasn't sleeping) and piercing headaches. I came in for another post-op visit. I sensed something was wrong, but when I told Dr. Lyew I thought I had an infection, he checked my tooth and told me I was likely just clenching my jaw. He encouraged me to schedule an appointment for a mouth guard. I scheduled the appointment -- calling back a few days later to share I still wasn't sleeping because the pain was too much to endure. He was incredibly rude, telling me I still hadn't followed up on his advice to get a mouth guard yet. After more back and forth on the phone, he said "you can go ahead and get a second opinion if you want" and referred me to Bayside Endodontics. On my emergency visit to see them, they confirmed that I had a major infection. At that point, the nerve in the tooth had died. So after $200+ to fill this cavity (and three follow-ups over a span of 6 weeks), I paid $500+ for a root canal -- and was then referred back to Chad Lyew to complete the crown ($1500)... I know this stuff happens, cavities grow (or whatever, I'm not a dentist), but I've never had a medical provider dismiss me and try to push extra (unnecessary) services on me in such a crappy manner. Needless to say, I completed the repair on this tooth elsewhere. Updated: Dr. Lyew's office reached out after my review to follow up. I didn't expect this and it shows that patient satisfaction and care are important to him. I appreciated that and updated my review to reflect my overall experience with his office. As I said before, their office is impressive and the cleanings went well.

What an AMAZING experience! I rarely enjoy or look forward to my dentist visits, but this place has exceptional customer service and the staff really has a way of making patients feel at ease. I spoke with Brandee first and she explained the process for the treatments I was looking into. She's really sweet and super nice! I came in for a free consult with Dr. Chad Lyew and he listened and understood my goals and provided the best treatment plan for me. I did my teeth cleaning a few weeks ago and just came back today for the Zoom Whitening. I definitely recommend it - my teeth are now a few shades whiter! I did experience slight pain during the process, but was told the "zingers" will be gone within 24-48 hours. Another plus - the office is really high tech and they have TV screens and a selection of movies for you to watch while you do your teeth cleaning, whitening, etc. It's a great distraction from any pain or discomfort you might feel.. and it makes the time go by much faster! Overall, this is a great practice and I would recommend anybody to come here for their dental care!

I don't know why I haven't written a review for Dr. Lyew. Maybe it's because he has so many five stars and one more won't make a difference, but my most recent visit was so outstanding I feel compelled to write one now. I'll admit I don't stay up-to-date with my teeth cleaning so it's nice to get constant reminders from Dr. Lyew's uber-friendly staff when it's about that time to come in. Alemany Dental is on the frontline when it comes to technology. Their online chat system makes it very easy to change/cancel appointments and I like how they prefer to text rather than call to confirm because ain't nobody got time to pick up a phone call during the day. Before any procedure, you get to choose from a wide selection of movies including new releases that would probably cost $3.99 to rent at home on Xfinity or ITunes but watching it free while getting my teeth done is a win in my book. The office feels very high-end with a television on the wall AND ceiling so you don't miss a single scene. Oh, if you're like me and can't hold a straight face, try not to choose a comedy otherwise when a LOL scene comes on and Dr. Lyew is performing on your teeth with your mouth wide open, you don't want to spit in his face because you can't contain your laughter. Just a thought. Most recently, I came in for my annual teeth cleaning and Dr. Lyew noticed one metal filling I neglected to replace so many years back. Since he was booked back-to-back with patients, I had to make another appointment to come in but it's understandable. Two weeks later I came back and forgot anesthesia was involved to replace a filling. I sorta freaked out since I don't do well with pain and knowing I needed anesthesia to numb my teeth triggered some anxiety. However, Dr. Lyew explained it would be more discomfort than pain. He was right! The act of numbing the area wasn't painful at all. I was still anxious to get the procedure over and done with so I kept ushering Dr. Lyew to get on with the filling but he insisted we waited a few more minutes to let the anesthesia take full effect. Boyyyy I'm glad I listened and shut my mouth because during the filling I felt an immense amount of pressure at one point and I hate to think how much worse it would've been if I rushed the numbing process. Thanks doc. The only downside I can think of is Alemany Dental is quite popular (for good reason duh). If you want a weekend appointment, it needs to be made months in advance, but luckily the office is only five minutes away walking distance from Daly City Bart so I have no trouble traveling to the office during the week from downtown SF.

This review is long overdue. I found Alemany dental through yelp when my insurance changed last year. The front desk receptionist and staff are so nice and very polite. I have never been to a dental office where they explain everything so throughly with you before proceeding with treatment. My dental cleaning was a breeze. I also referred my friend as well and got a surprise giftcard in the mail!! Fast forward a year later ... This labor day weekend i got into a bad accident where i ate the cement, half of my tooth chipped. I called the emergency line, and Dr.lew called me back within 15 minutes. He asked me what happened and reassured me that he will do something about my chipped tooth and got me in the next day. I came out 1 hour later feeling brand new like nothing happened this weekend!!! He filled my teeth and it looks back to normal !!! Thank you guys so much!

I have been to 15 different dentist all over the country. Dr. Lyew is by far the best dentist who has amazing staff and technology. They use ipads, email/sms/phone calls, netflix/movies, latest dentistry technology to boot. Extremely efficient and they explain everything step by step and are not pushy. I only have two problems, they are way too popular so getting appointments are tough. And, Dr. Lyew is a bit of a "loud" talker...he needs an inside voice but it may just me. It cracked me up. Now, go make an appointment because you will actually enjoy the dentist, some what....

Dr. Chad and his staff are awesome! I've had crowns, extractions, fillings, deep cleanings, you name it. I had a bad crown from my dentist back in Santa Barbara that would fall out ALL the time. Not chill. When I moved to SF and the crown came off AGAIN, I contacted Alemany Dental and they got me in the next day. Dr. Chad took the time to explain why the crown kept falling off and their office even contacted my previous dental office to help me get a refund since my insurance wouldn't cover for a new one -- amazing and professional service! I haven't had any issues with the new crown Dr. Chad made me and it's been almost 2 years. I also had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted with the sedation option that they offer and it was a breeze. I literally do not remember anything except for waking up at home in my bed. I was definitely sore after, which was expected after a surgery, but not as bad as I thought it'd be. I didn't even need to take any of the pain meds. The front office staff is great too! I have changed insurances 3 times over the course of the last 2 years and they always check it for me and provide accurate estimates. Insurance is like a foreign language to me so I appreciate that they explain everything so thoroughly. I recommend this place to everyone I know, cause I know they'll be in good hands.

Alemany Dental has a very comforting and welcoming atmosphere when it comes to dental offices, from the waiting room to the actual inside. First of all, Victoria helped me schedule my appointment with Dr. Lyew and was able to accommodate to my class schedule. She even helped track how long it would take to get to the office via public transportation, which helped me plan accordingly! She then was able to help locate my insurance benefits and communicated the details with me over the phone. On the day of my visit, the x-rays and pre-diagnostics went comfortably and overall were fine. Dr. Lyew went over the photos taken of my teeth, and told me about certain precautions to take in order to maintain good oral hygiene. He was also very personable so I felt pretty relaxed throughout the entire visit. Afterward, Victoria was there again to sit down with me and was very helpful and patient when it came to again making sure I knew what my copay and insurance benefits would be, as well as what any future dental procedures would entail, cost and treatment-wise. Insurance benefits can be difficult to comprehend, but she was more than happy to take the time and help break down the details for me. All in all, it was a pleasant experience, from the medical procedures to the customer service that the dental assistants had to offer.

My favorite dental office! The staff are all extremely professional and nice. I love how they have iPads and TVs into their rooms. Did I mention TWO TVs in the room while they clean my teeth? One for when you sit up and another one above your head so when you lay down. The dentist and the hygienists are very knowledgable and thoroughly explains the condition of my teeth. I highly recommend you go here if you're looking for a dentist!

No one likes going to the dentist from my experience but I would recommend this place. Cool points: 1. They are hi-tech. Forms via an ipad? Say goodbye to wasting paper. Tablets for kids in the entry-way. 2. Beyond polite and sweet staff. Never met nicer and such young, hip staff. 3. You get to watch movies while they are cleaning your teeth. SO COOL! Their list is not out-dated but actually with new movies and tv shows! 4. They numb your gums slightly when they're cleaning for extra comfort. 5. They moisturize your lips after/during? the cleaning, which is such a nice sweet gesture. They've thought of everything. 5. Extra goodies for your way out. These are the things I look forward to and makes me almost LIKE going to the doctor. At least I will look forward to continuing my movie next time I go!

Dr. Chad Lyew and his team are a joy to work with. If you can think of a word that is exactly the opposite of Comcast customer service, that word will mean Dr.Chad and his team's patient care. I was treated by the doc for a lost tooth. The tooth was pretty badly damaged due to a bunch of root canals and another surgeon ( who is a wisdom tooth specialist in the area - and who also has pretty high ratings in yelp) confirmed to me that this is a lost cause, and this tooth can never be repaired. I don't think that surgeon was wrong, she was pretty good at her area of work, and my tooth was a tough situation (two root canals!). Rather it is just that Dr. Chad keeps up with the changing technology and what is possible right now. When I suggested some new cutting edge research to Dr.Chad he was genuinely curious and thrilled about the findings and wanted to learn more. This is always a great sign. He sent me to get a 3D model of my mouth and the affected areas. And made a mold to guide the surgery. This technique allowed him to do a precise hole, that the recovery time was hours instead of weeks or days. Keep in mind that this is an implant surgery for a pretty major tooth. Also I am a skeptical person, so I waited a whole 6 months before writing the review before I was convinced :) The doc spends time only on the major issues, so you will be spending a good 70% of the time with the crew. So this review is also partly for his crew who are very professional and kind. I also love how they explain all the fees upfront which if you think about it is common sense, but in general how the entire world of medicine behaves this common sense is not so common, so I have to applaud it where I see it.

Just recently moved back to the Peninsula and needed a new dentist - was recommended to Alemany Dental by Brandee and am really happy! Friendly staff, thorough dental exam, excellent cleaning by Sandra and enjoyed the movie while my teeth were being cleaned. The goodie bag was a nice touch and appreciated the dental hygiene tips that were demoed on a little model jaw - feel like this info and detailed instruction would've been helpful much earlier in my life but better late than never!

The best dental practice you will find. Growing up as a military daughter, I have lived many places. I have had many dentists but this is the best. Everyone is helpful and caring. The work they do is magical because they are able to relieve any stress and beautify my smile. If you're looking for a dentist go here.
